Meeting called to order at 7:10 pm. Myron led us in prayer.

Attendees: Amy Chalupnik, Kevin Lincium, Myron Crawford, Jenny Paripovich, Sue Foster and Kim Gleason.

Agenda:

40 Days of Community Program for Middle School and Sr. High Youth
Key Highlights:

• Students will be encouraged to work with their parents in family groups that will be organized by another committee.
• Key Service/Mission projects will be done during our planned Buffalo Mission Trip this summer for Sr. High Youth.
• Service projects are a requirement for approximately 130 Confirmation Students (7th and 8th grade) already and will continue to be reinforced and encouraged.
• Student Workbooks will be available for both Sr. High and Middle School to plug into specific age groups (see below information) or to do with their family.
• Key 40 Day milestones: Kickoff is January 13th, Finale is Celebration Sunday on Palm Sunday, start program on Ash Wed. which is Feb. 3rd.
• We will adopt the name of FACETIME (compliments of Amy – and – no hyphen!) for our 40 Days Sessions.

Sr. High Program Specifics:

• 40 Days would replace the current Graceland during Lent
  6:30 pm Church
  7:30 pm Large Group (lead by Myron, Jim or Pa. Steve
  7:45 – 8:45 Small Group (led by parent Volunteers)
  8:45 – 9:00 pm Hang out/Closing (Myron to do first one and then possibly have each small group do the remaining closings.)
• Due Date for Sign-up will be Dec. 31, 2007; sign-up will be done the normal way that all Sr. Activities have had.
• Plans are to try to extend this program out to students who have had little to no involvement in our current youth program
• Based on number signed up by Dec 31, parents will be recruited for small group.
• Mission Trip students and parents will be strongly encouraged to be involved.
• Mixed or segregated groups is an option (boys/girls) and Add/pick a buddy will be adopted.

Middle School Program Specifics:

• After much discussion, it was decided to first of all ask for interest level with sign up at Confirmation along with their phone number: ACTION: MYRON DUE DATE:ASAP
• Once we have the number of student interest, the parents will be called or will be given a survey to fill out as to when the best time would be to do the Middle School Workbook.
• Parent volunteers will also be recruited on an as needed basis.
• Focus will be on Confirmation students only (7&8) with separate Boy and Girl groups utilized (although add/pick a buddy may also be utilized).
